WHAT HAPPENS IN SACH KHAND WHEN WE PRAY?

This is one of the nicest e-mails I have seen and is so true:
I dreamed that I went to SACH KHAND and a Baba Ji was showing me around. We walked side-by-side inside a large workroom filled with Sewadar's. Baba Ji stopped in front of the first section and said, ' This is the Receiving Section. Here, all petitions to Waheguru said in prayer are received.

I looked around in this area, and it was terribly busy with so many
Sewadar's sorting out petitions written on voluminous paper sheets and scraps from people all over the world.

Then we moved on down a long corridor until we reached the second section.

Baba Ji then said to me, "This is the Packaging and Delivery Section. Here, the graces and blessings the people asked for are processed and delivered to the living persons who asked for them." I noticed again how busy it was there. There were many Sewadar's working hard at that station, since so many blessings had been requested and were being packaged for delivery to Earth.

Finally at the farthest end of the long corridor we stopped at the door of a very small station. To my great surprise, only one Sewadar was seated there, idly doing nothing. "This is the Acknowledgment Section, Baba Ji quietly admitted to me. He seemed embarrassed."  How is it that there is no work going on here? '  I asked.

"So sad," Baba Ji sighed.  "After people receive the blessings that they asked for, very few send back acknowledgments".

"How does one acknowledge God's blessings? " I asked.

"Simple," Baba Ji answered. Just say, "Thank you, Waheguru. "

"What blessings should they acknowledge?"  I asked.

"If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep you are richer than 75% of this world. If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish, you are among the top 8% of the world 's wealthy. "

"And if you get this on your own computer, you are part of the 1% in the world who has that opportunity."

"If you woke up this morning with more health than illness ... You are more blessed than the many who will not even survive this day. "

"If you have never experienced the fear in battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation ... You are ahead of 700 million people in the world."

"If you can attend Gurdwara without the fear of harassment, arrest, torture or death you are envied by, and more blessed than, three billion people in the world."

"If your parents are still alive and still married ...you are very rare."

"If you can hold your head up and smile, you are not the norm, you're unique to all those in doubt and despair......"

Ok, what now? How can I start?

If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in that someone was thinking of you as very special and you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world who cannot read at all.

Have a good day, count your blessings, and if you care to, pass this along to remind everyone else how blessed we all are

ATTN:  Acknowledge Dept.
"Thank you Waheguru, for giving me the ability to share this message and for giving me so many wonderful people with whom to share it. "

If you have read this far, and are thankful for all that you have been blessed with, how can you not send it on ??? ? I thank Waheguru for everything, especially all my family and friends.

This may change your life (relax from stress)

The Professor began his class by holding up a glass with some water in it. He held it up for all to see & asked the students ''How much do you think this glass weight?''

'50gms'..'100gms'..'125gms'...the students answered.
''I really don't know unless I weight it,'' said the professor, but my question is:
What would happen if I held it up like this for an hour? The Professor asked.
'Your arm would begin to ache', said one of the student.
''You are right, now what would happen if I held it for a day?''
'Your arm could go numb; you might have severe muscle stress & paralysis, have to go hospital for sure.'
.......ventured another student & all the students laughed.
Very good.
But during all this, did the weight of the glass change? Asked the professor.
'No'...was the answer.
''Then what caused the arm ache & the muscle stress?

The students were puzzled.
''What should I do now to come out of pain? Asked professor again.
'Put the glass down' said one of the students
''Exactly!'' said the professor
Life's problems are something like this. Hold it for a few minutes in your hand and they seems ok
Think of them for a long time & they begin to ache. Hold it even longer & they begin to paralyze you. You will not be able to do anything.

It's important to think of the challenges or problems in your life. But EVEN MORE IMPORTANT is to 'PUT THHEM DOWN' at the end of everyday before you go to sleep...
That way you are not stressed, you wake up everyday fresh, strong & can handle any issue, any challenge that comes in your way.

So when you start your day today, Remember friend to 'GLASS DOWN TODAY!'

Simplicity

Peace is simplicity. Simplicity is beauty.
Choose a day as your day of simplicity.
Speak little, and listen with attention.
Do something incognito and nice for a person
you are close to.
Eat simple and natural food.
Create time periods for not doing anything –
just walk, look around, live the moment.

Have your mind open to a more profound
and silent sensitivity.
Appreciate each scene and each person as they are.
In the evening, write down your discoveries.
Observe the state of your mind.

Weird Fish With Transparent Head

The fish discovered alive in the deep water off California's Central Coast by the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI), it was the first specimen of its kind to be found with soft transparent dome intact.

It has 6-inch (15 centimeter barrel-eye (Macropinna microstomata). Then the eyes rotate forward to follow the prey, allowing the fish to home in on its meal.

They said that this fish is motionless, its eyes upward. The green lens atop each of the fish's eyes filters out what little sunlight makes it down from the surface, allowing the fish to focus on the bioluminescence of small jellies or other prey passing overhead.

The grayish, barrel-like eyes are beneath the green domes, which may filter light. In this picture the eyes are pointing upward--the better to see prey above in the darkness of the barreleye's deep-sea home.

Panjin Red Beach, China

The Red Beach is located in the Liaohe River Delta, about 30 kilometer southwest of Panjin City in China. The beach gets its name from its appearance, which is caused by a type of sea weed that flourishes in the saline-alkali soil. The weed that start growing during April or May remains green during the summer.

In autumn, this weed turns flaming red, and the beach looks as if it was covered by an infinite red carpet that creates a rare red sea landscape. Most of the Red Beach is a nature reserve and closed to the public. Only a small, remote, section is open for tourists.

Meet the world's biggest truck

This gargantuan of a truck is hard to describe, but put it this way, imagine standing on the terrace of your duplex house and driving the entire building down the road.

The biggest truck in the world is neither a Volvo nor a Ford, not even a Mack truck with a double trailer. The real monsters are mining trucks that stand more than 21 feet tall and 48 ft long.

Caterpillar 797F Mining Truck, which weighs more than one million pounds (453,592 kilograms) and can carry and dump more than 300 tons of material in the back. These mining trucks produce about 4,000 horsepower to move all that mass and travel at a maximum speed of 67 kmph.

The Jeita Grotto Limestone Caves in Lebanon

The Jeita Grotto is a compound of two separate but interconnected karstic limestone caves spanning an overall length of nearly 9 kilometers (5.6 mi). The caves are situated in the Nahr al-Kalb valley within the locality of Jeita, 18 kilometres (11 mi) north of the Lebanese capital Beirut.

Though inhabited in prehistoric times, the lower cave was not rediscovered until 1836 by Reverend William Thomson; it can only be visited by boat since it channels an underground river that provides fresh drinking water to more than a million Lebanese.

The Jeita Grotto is also one of 28 finalists to become one of the new 7 Wonders of Nature!

Happy Ganesha Chaturthi

Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated on the birthday of Lord Ganesh (Ganesha), the god of wisdom and prosperity on the fourth day of the moons bright fortnight, or period from new moon in the lunar month of Bhadrapada. The celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi continue for five, seven, or ten days. Some even stretch it to twenty one days, but ten the most popularly celebrated. In the tradition of the right hand path the first day is the most important. In the left hand path tradition the final day is most important.

Ganesha is the god of wisdom and prosperity and is invoked before the beginning of any auspicious work by the Hindus. It is believed that for the fulfillment of one's desires, his blessing is absolutely necessary. According to the mythology, he is the son of Shiva and Parvati, brother of Kartikeya - the general of the gods, Lakshmi - the goddess of wealth and Saraswati-the goddess of learning. There are numerous stories in Hindu mythology, associated with the birth of this elephant-headed god, whose vehicle is the Mooshak or rat and who loves Modaks (droplet shaped Indian sweet).

Ganesh Chaturthi Celebrations

The festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated the states of Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh and many other parts of India. Started by Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaja, the great Maratha ruler, to promote culture and nationalism, the festival was revived by Lokmanya Tilak (a freedom fighter) to spread the message of freedom struggle and to defy the British who had banned public assemblies. The festival gave the Indians a feeling of unity and revived their patriotic spirit and faith. This public festival formed the background for political leaders who delivered speeches to inspire people against the Western rule. The festival is so popular that the preparations begin months in advance.

Ganesha statues installed in street corners and in homes, and elaborate arrangements are made for lighting, decoration, mirrors and the most common of flowers. Poojas (prayer services) are performed daily. The artists who make the idols of Ganesh compete with each other to make bigger and more magnificent and elegant idols. The relevantly larger ones are anything from 10 meters to 30 meters in height. These statues are then carried on decorated floats to be immersed in the sea after one, three, five, seven and ten days. Thousands of processions converge on the beaches to immerse the holy idols in the sea. This procession and immersion is accompanied by drum- beats, devotional songs and dancing.

It is still forbidden to look at the moon on that day as the moon had laughed at Ganesha when he fell from his vehicle, the rat. With the immersion of the idol amidst the chanting of "Ganesh Maharaj Ki Jai!" (Hail Lord Ganesh). The festival ends with pleas to Ganesha to return the next year with chants of "Ganpati bappa morya, pudcha varshi laukar ya" (Hail Lord Ganesh, return again soon next year.

would not be so welcome."

Life is short, don't waste time worrying about what people think of you
hold on to the ones that care,
in the end they will be the only ones there.

As our thought so is our consciousness, and as is our consciousness so is our life.
Let your first thought of the day simply be peaceful.
Plant this seed. Water it with attention and you will gather the calm.

Obama: Six days, four nations...

OBAMA: SIX DAYS, FOUR NATIONS....

US President Barack Obama began a six-day, four-nation tour (Ireland, England, France, and Poland) May 22, 2011. His 24-hour visit to Ireland included dropping by rural Moneygall, where his great-great-great-grandfather Fulmouth Kearney lived before immigrating to the United States in 1850. The second stop on Mr. Obama’s itinerary? London, for a visit with the Queen, where he was honored with a State Dinner at Buckingham Palace and gave an address to both houses of Parliament. Mr. Obama’s next stop: a meeting of the Group of 8 world powers in Deauville, France. The leaders discussed how the West could help Egypt, Tunisia and other Arab states in political transition. On the last stop: Mr. Obama visited Poland. Last year he was forced to cancel (to attend the funeral of Poland's president) when the ash cloud from an Icelandic volcano restricted air space and travel. Ironically, a new volcanic eruption forced alterations of his itinerary again this year. -- Paula Nelson

Chefchaouen, the Blue City of Morocco

Chefchaouen is a small charming city of about 40,000 inhabitants located in northeastern Morocco near the Mediterranean Sea. Situated in the heart of Morocco's Rif Mountains, Chefchaouen is a tourist’s delight with affordable accommodations, and above all, a picturesque town set against the dramatic backdrop of the Rif Mountains filled with white-washed homes with distinctive, powder-blue accents.

The beauty of Chefchaouen's mountainous surroundings are enhanced by the contrast of the brightly painted medina (old town). It is this beauty and the relaxed atmosphere of the town that makes Chefchaouen very attractive to visitors.

The main square in the medina is lined with cafes and filled to the brim with locals and tourist mingling easily. During the summer approximately two hundred hotels cater to the influx of European tourists.

Golden Temple

The Golden Temple (Harmandir Sahib), located in the city of Amritsar, India is a Sikh gurdwara (place of worship). It is the most well-known gurdwara and is considered a sacred place by Sikhs. It was first constructed in 1604 and was later rebuilt in 1764.

Located inside many gurdwaras are common kitchens/canteens known as a langar. At the langar, food is served to all visitors regardless of faith or background. Vegetarian food is often served to ensure that all people, even those with dietary restrictions, can eat together as equals.

The largest langar is found at the Golden Temple. It typically feeds roughly 40,000 people a day for free. On religious holidays and weekends, the langar can feed upwards of 100,000 people a day. This incredible feat is made possible through donations and volunteers. Below you will learn about the entire process at the Golden Temple from preparation to cleaning.

Be Specific

It is impossible to complete a journey if you only have a vague, general idea of where you're going. By contrast, when you know exactly where you wish to go, then every step you take brings you closer.

Be specific, and problems are transformed into opportunities for achievement and growth.
Be specific, and your most treasured dreams begin to pull you toward them.

Be specific, and misunderstandings disappear. Be specific, and life will more often unfold the way you want.

Challenge yourself to go beyond the easy, comfortable generalizations and put in the effort to be specific.
When you're clear about where you're going, you'll get there.
